   Lochaber     -     The Grey Corries

The highland region of Lochaber contains the greatest number, and best known Munros in all of Scotland, including the highest, Ben Nevis. Lochaber is a mountaineering area par excellence with a high concentration of wonderful mountains with memorable routes to their summits. The area is also subject to the full force of atlantic lows during the winter months, which make it a renowned ice climbing and winter walking destination.

These mountains to the north east of the Ben Nevis massive are referred to as the Grey Corries, and form a high level ridge between the east end of Glen Nevis and the west end of Glen Spean. The traverse of these mountains is very long with many undulations and is usually completed in three separate visits.
