   Lochaber     -     Glenfinnan

The highland region of Lochaber contains the greatest number, and best known Munros in all of Scotland, including the highest, Ben Nevis. Lochaber is a mountaineering area par excellence with a high concentration of wonderful mountains with memorable routes to their summits. The area is also subject to the full force of atlantic lows during the winter months, which make it a renowned ice climbing and winter walking destination.

Glenfinnan, on the shores of Loch Shiel, is where Bonnie Prince Charlie first raised his standard at the start of the 1745 Jacobite uprising against the Government troops, which ended in the massacre at Culloden a year later. Situated on the 'Road to the Isles', Glenfinnan has a wealth of spectacular scenery and hill walking with easy access from Fort William and Glencoe.
