The glen lies east to west with the steep hillsides of The Three Sisters to the south, and the Aonach Eagach or 'Notched Ridge' to the north. Guarding the entrance to the glen from Rannoch Moor is the mighty Buachaille Etive Mor, the most spectacular of all the Scottish mountains. The mountains has an alpine feel, especially in winter, with well known ridges and rugged features providing rock and winter climbing possibilities that are justifiably amongst the best in Scotland.
