   The Annapurna Region     -     Pokhara

The Annapurna region is Nepal's the most popular trekking destination with four of the world's highest mountains, and the world's deepest valley within it's boundaries. Gateway to the region is the lovely lakeside town of Pokhara, an idyllic place to relax after a long trek.

The small town of Pokhara lies 200km west of Kathmandu, and is the gateway to the Annapurna mountain range, seen clearly from most points of the town. It is a welcoming relief from the hustle and bustle of the capital, being very laid back and easy going. Most visitors simply promenade up and down the main street, frequent the many shops, bars and lake side restaurants, and take things easy for a few days.
