Ben Nevis, at 1344m/4406ft, is the highest mountain in Great Britain, and one of the best climbing areas in Scotland. For the average walker, the Tourist Path from Achintee provides the most popular route to the summit, although the magnificant cliffs, snow filled corries and ridges that fall down into the Allt a' Mhuillin, on the north side of the mountain, remain hidden until the top is reached.
