Glencoe, The Weeping Glen, is the best known and most visited glen in all of Scotland, and with good reason. The glen lies east to west with the steep hillsides of The Three Sisters to the south, and the Aonach Eagach or 'Notched Ridge' to the north. Guarding the entrance to the glen from Rannoch Moor is the mighty Buachaille Etive Mor, the most spectacular of all the Scottish mountains.

The Aonach Eagach, or 'Notched Ridge', dominates the north side of Glencoe, the traverse of which is the most exciting in mainland Britain. The ridge is continuously narrow, in many places exposed, and contains a great deal of excellent scrambling. In winter it is a serious undertaking.
