New Zealand, situated in a temperate zone in the South Pacific, is one of the world's most picturesque countries and is well known for its rural environment and scenery. Kiwis like to think of their country as "Godzone" (God's own country) with its stupendous vistas, craggy coastlines, glaciered mountains, alpine pastures, fast-flowing rivers and vast blue lakes.
