The mountains of the Karakoram are amongst the most spectacular in the world and made up towering granite spires, rock walls and huge pyramids of ice that sprout out of the glacial wilderness of northern Pakistan.

The Trango Towers are a collection of granite spires on the north side of the Baltoro Glacier, opposite Urdukas. There are seven tower in total, the highest being at an altitude of 6617m. They clearly symbolise the nature of the lower mountains in the karakoram.
