Beijing, the capital of China, and with a population of over 14 million people, is one of the world's largest cities. It was first established as the capital in the Yuan dynatsy (1279 - 1368) and has many imposing sights, although because the sea of change sweeping through China it can feel very modern.

The Forbidden City is in the very heart of Beijing and was home to twenty-four Emporers between 1420 and 1920.
